Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas, y'all!
Hope everyone has an amazing Christmas celebrating this wonderful holiday with loved ones.
I can hardly believe it's been 6 weeks since I've written a post! The past few weeks have been the most exciting, chaotic, wonderful, exhausting, incredible & blessed weeks of our entire adoption journey. So much happened all at once, just like I had a feeling it would. I'm sorry I haven't been able to keep y'all in the loop more during this exciting time. I have been itching to write but haven't had the time.
Although life has been crazy, our hearts are full of joy & thankfulness. We are so grateful for all God has done & are praising Him for His provision & blessings for our family.
Here's a little update on what's been going on in our world over the past month & a half…
We hosted an Adoption Auction November 16th-19th that allowed us to meet our fundraising goal! Praise God, so thankful for everyone who has supported us through this journey to fundraise & prepare for Baby K!
A week after we met our fundraising goal, we got "the call" telling us that we had been chosen as parents by a birth mother in Georgia due in February! Finally receiving that call was one the most exciting & surreal moments for us! I'm going to write an entire post about our whole "matched" experience sometime soon :)
Cary's football team not only made the playoffs this year, but we also went all the way to the Grey Cup! A few days after getting the news that Baby K was finally "on the way", we flew across Canada to Vancouver for the CFL championship game. Even though the Ticats didn't win, playing in the Grey Cup was still an amazing experience.
Immediately after the Grey Cup, we moved out of our Canadian apartment, packed our car full of our possessions & drove down to Georgia to meet Baby K's birth mother. The entire experience of meeting her was amazing & a time we will cherish forever. We were able to attend an ultrasound appointment & find out in person that Baby K is a GIRL! What a gift! Cary & I are both thrilled about sweet baby girl & cannot wait to meet her. We were also able to get the know the birth mother as well as meet her family & get to love on them. We are so thankful for the opportunity to have that experience & make those memories. It was more than we had hoped & prayed for, God is good! There's still a lot that needs to fall into place before baby girl comes home with us. Please be praying over all of the details!
Finally, we made our way HOME for the offseason! We are so happy to be back in Louisiana with our family & friends. Y'all have been so sweet to welcome us back with such celebration & excitement.
As I've been reflecting on our joyful homecoming, I cannot help but remember the painful time we were going through at this time last year. This exact week last year, after almost a year of trying to have a baby, we received our infertility diagnosis & went through a really rough few months.  I am thankful that God drew near to us during this time. Even when we couldn't see Him working & felt abandoned, He was there & He cared. In March we felt God's urging us to quickly start the adoption process. In May our precious little girl was being formed in her mother's womb. It's so beautiful to remember that at that exact time, our love for the child we knew God was bringing into our family was in full bloom! What beautiful timing He has…

I am so thankful He has been faithful throughout our long journey to parenthood. I am thankful that the pain of last Christmas is covered in joy this Christmas. I am thankful for new hope, new life & new plans. I am so incredibly thankful every single moment for the woman carrying baby girl. I'm so thankful for the grace & love of God for covering our entire adoption journey. I am thankful for adoption & the redemption it brings. I am amazed & grateful for the real reason for the Christmas season- baby Jesus, born in a manger to a faith filled young Mary & adoptive father Joseph…
God came down as baby to redeem the world with amazing love…that is why we sing & celebrate this wonderful season. Let us praise God for the incredible gift HE is & the eternal hope He brings to this broken world.
Merry Christmas friends. May your holidays be filled with joy, peace & awe as you celebrate the King of Kings with the ones you love.
Thank you so much for your prayers & support as we continue to walk out this adoption adventure! :)

Christmas Blessings,
Tyler, Cary & Baby K!
