It’s happening…baby girl is coming!!!

This morning, around 7 a.m. We woke up to the “the call”  that Baby K was on the way! Cary & I looked at each other, jumped out of bed, quickly gathered our things, called my mom & started to load the car. Even though we moved quickly, it still took us around 3 hours to leave for Georgia! That time flew by so quickly, I hardly remember it.
I can hardly believe this day is finally here. We are soooooooo excited & also still in shock that this is all finally happening! We are currently only a few hours out from our destination & have spent a good part of the day praying for our travels, birth mother, labor, baby girl & the next couple days. We have complete peace that no matter what happens, God is in control & loves this baby girl even more than we do. We have hoped for this day for 2 long years & are so grateful it’s finally here. Praise God for His plan.
I’m astounded by the love I feel radiating out my heart for baby girl & her family. We are praying what we’ve prayed every day of this adventure: for God’s unconditional & powerful love to reign in our situation, surround us & pour out of us as we fully trust Him with our lives, hearts & baby.
We can’t wait to see our sweet daughter for the first time. I can’t even begin to imagine what it’s going to be like…but my heart is so ready to experience a whole new type of love. We look forward to sharing baby girl’s sweetness with all of you (as soon as we are allowed to)! In the meantime, please keep us in your prayers as this whole process unfolds-it is highly emotional & quite the roller coaster ride!!!

Prayer Requests:
Pray for traveling mercies & that we would make it to the hospital before baby girl arrives.
Pray comfort over our birth mother & for an easy labor.
Pray for the health of baby girl & for a short hospital stay for us all. Pray the hospital would have an available hospital room for us to stay in.
Pray over all of the details, that everything will fall into place smoothly & that there would be no hold ups & complications in Jesus’ name.
Pray Psalm 139 over us & baby girl.
Pray for our sweet puppy dog while we are gone.  Pray we would be able to work out the arrangements on where she is staying so we aren’t worried about her on top of everything else going on.
Pray that we would have the patience to continue to wait with grace...
Pray for Cary, he’s been sick the past couple of days. Pray for supernatural wellness & complete healing for him.
Pray for my mom. Pray God gives her wisdom & strength as she loves & supports us through this process.
Pray for the hospital staff, social workers, attorney & everyone who is a part of this process…God send your wisdom to help us all navigate the situation. Pray the armor of God over us & Baby K from the tops of our heads & to the bottom of our toes…may nothing but the love & power of God touch us.
Pray for our paperwork to be processed quickly so that would be able to leave the state of Georgia soon & head back home! After baby girl is born everything will need to be processed but we are hoping it won’t take long. Cary’s sister is getting married in Louisiana next Saturday, February 21st & we are hoping to be able to make it back in time to be there! We are just praying for God’s divine timing to unfold & for His peace to cover us.
Pray for our hearts as we anticipate the arrival of baby girl. We know there is always a chance for things not to go according to plan… May God prepare our hearts for whatever comes our way & pray that we would trust in Him regardless of what happens.

We know that adoption is bittersweet…our greatest joy will be our birth mother’s greatest loss…please keep us in your prayers as we walk this journey together. May God open the doors for us to show love & empathy to baby’s birth family as they spend time with baby girl & grieve. May God bless her birth mother beyond measure with peace, comfort & confidence as she makes this sacrifice. Please pray for all of our hearts during this transition… We know God can do over & above what we are praying & hoping for & we are trusting Him to do so.

Thanks for each of you…your support & prayers mean the world to us!

Come on Baby K!!! We can hardly contain our joy knowing we will meet you SO soon!!!!!!!

Baby K's Nursery Reveal!

It's February! That means our sweet baby girl will be born in just a few weeks! Can you believe it?! You probably can since I've been posting about it every other day. ;)

Trying to pass the time has been fun. We've been distracting ourselves by pouring lots of love & creativity into our new favorite room in the house, Baby K's nursery. We've never re-done a room from top to bottom before, so it was a big deal to us. The rest of our house is full of well loved, hand-me-down furniture from my college days. ;)
A lot of the inspiration for baby girl's room came from Pinterest, where I've been collecting ideas for the past 2 years. We knew her nursery had to be created on a budget, so throughout the process we were intentional to create a beautiful space full of bargain finds & DIY low-cost projects. The nursery was also our only Christmas gift to each other, which makes it all the more special to us.

My husband & I are an electric & colorful couple. But when it came to our baby girl's nursery, we knew we wanted to tone down & focus on making a sweet, soft & whimsical space. We love modern patterns, as well as vintage pieces & anything DIY. Our creativity was running wild when we finally started piecing together her room, so we reigned it in by creating a balance of styles & making every detail intentional. Our color scheme evolved but from the beginning; we knew we wanted to focus on light coral, gold & grey. Mint, navy, white & shades of bluish grey also joined the party as her room came together. :)

We are crafty & love working together on projects, so designing her nursery was a delight to us both. We put a lot of love into the overall vision & the details. We painted almost every piece in the room, save the book shelves, crib, a few frames & the glider. Almost everything ended up being personalized & refinished to fit our vision. It was also important to us try to support small businesses with our nursery purchases, as well as other adoptive families fundraising efforts. Some of our favorite little pieces came from connections we've made on our adoptive journey through Etsy, Instagram & the blogging world.

I adore how her room turned out, & I find myself drawn to peeking in there or rocking in the glider multiple times a day. We wanted to share pictures of her room with y'all, since everyone has been so wonderful to support, pray & celebrate with us throughout this journey to bring home Baby K.

Whew, I know that was a lot of pictures! As you can see, we put a whole lot of love into creating a special place for Baby K. Can't wait to have her home!

As I mentioned above, some of our favorite pieces came from small shops, adoptive families fundraising efforts, or businesses that make a point to "give back" in various ways:

We have picked out a name for our sweet baby girl but have decided not to share it with everyone until we meet her. If you look closely in the pictures above, you might just find a very small hint. ;)

Hope you enjoyed our nursery reveal, it was so much fun for us to create & share with you! Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we prepare for & anticipate the arrival of our sweet daughter later this month.
