Baby K's Nursery Reveal!

It's February! That means our sweet baby girl will be born in just a few weeks! Can you believe it?! You probably can since I've been posting about it every other day. ;)

Trying to pass the time has been fun. We've been distracting ourselves by pouring lots of love & creativity into our new favorite room in the house, Baby K's nursery. We've never re-done a room from top to bottom before, so it was a big deal to us. The rest of our house is full of well loved, hand-me-down furniture from my college days. ;)
A lot of the inspiration for baby girl's room came from Pinterest, where I've been collecting ideas for the past 2 years. We knew her nursery had to be created on a budget, so throughout the process we were intentional to create a beautiful space full of bargain finds & DIY low-cost projects. The nursery was also our only Christmas gift to each other, which makes it all the more special to us.

My husband & I are an electric & colorful couple. But when it came to our baby girl's nursery, we knew we wanted to tone down & focus on making a sweet, soft & whimsical space. We love modern patterns, as well as vintage pieces & anything DIY. Our creativity was running wild when we finally started piecing together her room, so we reigned it in by creating a balance of styles & making every detail intentional. Our color scheme evolved but from the beginning; we knew we wanted to focus on light coral, gold & grey. Mint, navy, white & shades of bluish grey also joined the party as her room came together. :)

We are crafty & love working together on projects, so designing her nursery was a delight to us both. We put a lot of love into the overall vision & the details. We painted almost every piece in the room, save the book shelves, crib, a few frames & the glider. Almost everything ended up being personalized & refinished to fit our vision. It was also important to us try to support small businesses with our nursery purchases, as well as other adoptive families fundraising efforts. Some of our favorite little pieces came from connections we've made on our adoptive journey through Etsy, Instagram & the blogging world.

I adore how her room turned out, & I find myself drawn to peeking in there or rocking in the glider multiple times a day. We wanted to share pictures of her room with y'all, since everyone has been so wonderful to support, pray & celebrate with us throughout this journey to bring home Baby K.

Whew, I know that was a lot of pictures! As you can see, we put a whole lot of love into creating a special place for Baby K. Can't wait to have her home!

As I mentioned above, some of our favorite pieces came from small shops, adoptive families fundraising efforts, or businesses that make a point to "give back" in various ways:

We have picked out a name for our sweet baby girl but have decided not to share it with everyone until we meet her. If you look closely in the pictures above, you might just find a very small hint. ;)

Hope you enjoyed our nursery reveal, it was so much fun for us to create & share with you! Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we prepare for & anticipate the arrival of our sweet daughter later this month.

Love,
